Immigration Requirements
• All tourists wishing lo visit the country must carry a valid visa for India.
• Disembarkation cards must be completed and presented at the Immigration Counter on arrival,
• Embarkation cards duly filled in must be presented at the Immigration Counter at departure.

Customs Clearance
You are advised to report at the appropriate channel for customs clearance. There are two clearance channels:
• The Green Channel for passengers carrying non-dutiable items.
• The Red Channel for the passengers with dutiable goods.

Duty-Free Items
Items allowed free of duly include:
• Personal effects like clothing and other articles, new or used, which you may reasonably require, excluding merchandise for commercial purposes Personal effects which are not consumed during your stay must be taken back when you leave the country.
• A tourist of foreign origin visiting India can bring articles up to a value of Rs. 4.000/- (Rs. 12.000/- for tourists of Indian Origin) free of duty, which are intended as gilts, or even for his personal use.
•Cigarettes, Cigars, Tobacco and Alcoholic Beverages are allowed duly free within the regulation limits of :
• 200 cigarettes or 50 cigars or 250 gm, of tobacco.
• Alcoholic liquor and wines upto 1 litre each.

Currency Regulations
Movement of Indian and Foreign Currency Indian Government regulations regarding foreign exchange are:
• Indian currency is not permitted to be brought in or taken out of the country without permission from the Reserve Bank of India.
• Foreign Exchange/Currency brought into India must be declared at Customs where:
a) The value of foreign currency notes exceeds USS 5.000 or equivalent.
b) The aggregate value of the foreign exchange including currency notes exceeds USS 10.000/- or its equivalent.

Currency Exchange
You can exchange your money at:
• The Airport where a 24 hour facility is available through banks and approved money changers.
• City Centres through banks and recognized money changers.

Foreign Travel Tax
Foreign Travel Tax (or international travel from Indian airports is levied at the rate of:
• Rs.150/- for travel to neighboring countries Rs.500/- for travel to all other countries.
• The Foreign Travel Tax counters are located within all International airports.

Photography Restrictions
Photography is prohibited in places of military importance. Permission for photography at protected monuments may be obtained from:

Animals
